What's most important?
This is a critical question in onboarding. You need to know what's important to you. You need to know what's important to the people you're working with. And you need to find the common ground between the two to make sure you're all heading toward the same endpoint.
Look for a meaningful and rewarding shared purpose. "Meaningful" is about making a contribution to others. "Rewarding" is gets at what the contributors take away from themselves. The most stable common ground is found where all involved care about the contributions they can make together, and understand what's in it for them if they are successful. That's what's most important.
